Elisa Sanchez Gerasin

Instructor

Ms. Gerasin was born in Mexico City. She received her early ballet training at the Victoria Ballet in Guadalajara, Jalisco. She joined the Victoria Ballet Company in 1993 as a dancer and then started instructing beginner students. Elisa attended several Summer Programs such as Cuballet, Boston Ballet, 12th and 13th International ballet Seminar Lake Michigan, and Pittsburgh Vaganova Seminar. In 1995, Elisa trained in Pennsylvania at Point Park College and Pittsburgh Ballet Theater School. On 1997, Elisa trained and performed with the Colorado Ballet under the direction of Martin Freidman. In 1999, Elisa returned to Victoria Ballet where she continued to perform and instruct for two years. In 2001, Ms. Gerasin joined San Mateo Ballet Theater Company in Boston where she danced for two seasons. Also in 2001, Elisa joined Ballet Theater Workshop where she instructed and danced fro two years. In 2002, Elisa started performing for Portland Ballet Company where she continues to perform. In 2004, Elisa also involved herself with Art Rochester where she instructed as well as performed and choreographed in several productions.
Ms. Gerasin has performed in several productions such as: Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Bayardere, Paquita, Giselle, Pas be Quarte, Don Quixote, Le Fille Mal Garde, Romeo and Juliet, Diana and Action, Night before Christmas, The Wizard of Oz, Raymonda, and many more choreographies and variations.
